KOOL KUSTOMS...

OK, if you're a purist, you may want to go back to the main page... But, if you're like me, they're ALL good.  I may prefer most restored cars over their kustom counterparts, but when they're done right, I sometimes prefer the kustoms... Here are just a few examples my dad and I have run across over the years...

This is a famous, chopped 1941 Buick Roadmaster Convertible Coupe, built by George Barris... This car is now in the Kurt McCormick collection...
Here's a front view of the Barris Buick...
This is a very conservative kustom... It's a 1953 Chevy Bel Air, spotted in the early 1980's, at a KKOA meets in Springfield, MO...
Here's a radical 1956 Buick... The body on this one has been sectioned...
Here's an interesting old kustom... This pic dates back to around 1979, and was taken at Six Flags over Mid-America... It's a 1956 Chevy, with 1958 Lincoln headlights, and a '58 Buick grill...
This little '57 Chevy convertible was actually built from a '57 and a '59...
Here's a 1940 Mercury coupe... I think this car is owned by Dave Conrad...
Note the Matranga / Hirohata style window treatment.... This pic dates back only about 3 years...
Somebody has been watching too many old Munsters episodes... This pic was taken sometime in the '90s...
Here's the famous Jack Walker clone of the Hirohata Merc...
This one was spotted about 15 years ago at a KKOA meet... Jack's attention to detail is magnificent on this car...
Here's the great Ed Lepold "King of Mercs"... This chopped 1950 Mercury is one of the nicest I've ever seen... This pic dates back to around 1997...
They don't get much lower than this kustom 1956 Lincoln Premiere...
I like the color scheme on this car, as it's very similar to the colors on my Kaiser...
This wild kustom probably started out as a 1948 Chevy, but anymore, who can tell?
Nice 56 Packard taillight treatment....
This neat little kustom, wearing '53 Buick headlights, is actually a 1953 Oldsmobile coupe... This pic was taken around 1979 or '80, at another Six Flags show... Where is it today???
This 1965 Riviera looks a lot like a Barris Kustom job... This one was spotted at another Kustom Kemps of America meet, back in the 1980's...
This wild 1939 Graham sharknose coupe is flawless.... This one was featured in a few magazines several years ago...
Here's a former Kurt McCormick car... This little shoebox Ford was still in primer around 1979...
Here's a 1950 Ford Coupe spotted at the big Hoosier Meet around 1981... This one has a nice teardrop rear fender well treatment.
Here's another neat little shoebox, spotted in the late 1980's or early '90s...
Here's another Jack Walker car, spotted about 10 years ago... Look closely at the details.  This is an amazing car...
Everything about this mid 1930's Cadillac Victoria Coupe is just right...
